LOL betting tutorial
You may not like it, but it’s impossible to deny the importance and growth of e-sports on the British (and global) scene. And this evolution already draws attention even from bookmakers: these modalities are already available for investments in the main platforms.
Thinking about this new market, the Betting Club will bring three betting options in e-sports. We start today with one of the most popular games in UK: the League of Legends.
How to bet on League of Legends?
If you enjoy watching eSports, you should not have so much trouble finding matches to watch. Even cable TV channels, such as Sportv, have already opened doors for this modality that, at least at that moment, has come to stay. However, and the bets? With so much competition, you can take advantage of the opportunities offered by bookmakers. This is the case, for example, of 188Bet. This platform covers some of today’s top e-sports.
Finding eSports matches
After logging in to the 188Bet site, the first action to take is to locate the games in the e-sports category, which is where the League of Legends matches will be. They are inside the sports section, which can be accessed from the top menu, as shown in the image below.
Note that next to sports, you have a direct shortcut to the eSports page of the platform. However, this link is somewhat different from the traditional format and you may get confused a bit. To follow the pattern of other content related to 188Bet, let’s use the best known path.
Now, in the menu on the left side, we find the list of sports. Just select the eSports to find the games available. Remember that by using the shortcut to the eSports page, you will also be able to view the games.
Betting on a League match the Legends
After 188Bet redirects, covered eSports competitions will appear. In this case, we selected the box of League of Legends, as shown below, and sent to open matches. When you find the clash you are looking for, click on it to open all markets. Remember, if you look for the main markets, the bet can already be made on this screen. Finally, on the markets screen (we’ll talk about them next), just choose a bet and click on the odd presented. A window will open on the right side of the screen, where you must enter the amount you want to invest and click on BET.
Which markets to bet on League of Legends?
To understand the markets for betting on League of Legends, it is important to understand the rules of the game and the competition. In the example we had, the dispute is made in the best of three games (ie, wins the one who wins two wins first).
Winner of the match
The match winner market is very simple and common. There, your bet is made on who will win the match, without further complications.
The handicap market is also related to the winner of the match. However, as its name suggests, here is an advantage (or disadvantage) given to teams. The objective of this market is to level the dispute a little, offering more similar conditions and, thus, closer odds.
In the case of the negative handicap (-1.5), this means that Suning Gaming must win the match by 2 × 0, without losing a game. The positive handicap (+1.5) in favor of LGD Gaming allows a winning bet as long as the team wins a game – it can lose the game, as long as it scores.
Another traditional market is the Under / Over, also very well-known by its English name: Under / Over. Here, the focus is on whether the game will have more or less than 2.5 games.
For being a better three, any score for 2 × 0 makes bets on Under (Under) winning. On the other hand, if the third game is played, the winning bet will be Over.
Betting on games
Finally, you can still make specific bets within individual games. Options are available as the winner of the game, the first to win five opponents’ death and the duration (under / over model), for example.
